Stockport County Association Football Club Limited in administration - update

Stockport County Association Football Club Limited (SCFC) entered into administration on 30 April 2009, with the appointment of John Titley and Paul Reeves, Directors at Leonard Curtis, as Joint Administrators.
In light of recent speculation in respect of the sale of Stockport County and the start of the new football season, the administrators of the Club have released the following statement:
"The sale of Stockport County Association Football Club to the Melrose Consortium has yet to be completed due to a number of outstanding requirements of the Football League, which must be satisfied prior to the conclusion of any sale of the Club.
The Football League have confirmed that Stockport County can start the 2009/2010 Season in administration whilst a sale of the Club is concluded. As such the Club will continue to trade as normal whilst the purchasers continue in their attempts to satisfy the requirements of the Football League, which we expect to be done in the near future.
We therefore want to reassure fans and urge them to support the team as they begin their 2009/2010 campaign.
We will report further once these matters have been concluded."
