Administrators from Leonard Curtis Business Rescue & Recovery were appointed in relation to SSG UK Specialist Ambulance Service Limited (SSG UK) on 3rd September 2019 and to its sister company UK Vehicle Support Limited (UKVS) on 9th September 2019.

Customer contracts were serviced by SSG UK which employed all staff. There were some 80 head office staff paid under PAYE and an additional 370 ‘bank’ staff retained under contract. The majority of physical assets were accounted for within UKVS.

Shortly following the Administrators’ appointment, and with the assistance of management, regrettably, the whole of the workforce was made redundant by SSG UK.

The Administrators and their appointed advisors are offering assistance to any former members of staff who have claims for any unpaid entitlements which, subject to statutory weekly limits, may be protected under the Employment Rights Act.

The tangible assets of the group are substantially, but not wholly, funded by an asset‐based lender which retains a proprietary interest. With a view to achieving the best possible outcome for creditors of both companies, agents appointed by the Administrators have been co‐operating with the asset owners with a view to bringing assets to the market on a transparent and fair basis.

Some asset sales have already been concluded by the owners on a private treaty basis, but it is intended that the remaining assets will be offered for sale in a controlled auction environment.

Parties with an interest in any of these assets are invited to contact the appointed agents, Gordon Brothers, on or

Andrew Beckingham from Leonard Curtis commented: “Contrary to some speculation, there has been no dispute or misunderstanding over the tangible asset ownership or funding, although it is understood that keenly competing market interest over some of the available assets has resulted in disappointment for some interested parties. It is hoped that these parties will engage with the planned auction process.”
