Apply

Your main duties will be to assist management in the day to day running of a portfolio of restructuring assignments, leading to a small and varied caseload across Jersey, Guernsey, and other offshore jurisdictions such as the Isle of Man.

Leonard Curtis is a market leading professional services provider operating across the UK and offshore. Since our formation we’ve supported business owners and advisors by listening and offering practical solutions and tailored advice. Our expert team of specialists deliver expertise across restructuring, and insolvency, funding, law and business services across 29 offices and we remain the largest independent restructuring firm in the UK.

We have built a dynamic environment that empowers you to express yourself– to have confidence in who you are and what you’re capable of and develop the career you want.

The specific duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Taking responsibility for the day-to-day progression of a portfolio of restructuring cases, contributing to strategy where appropriate.
  • Preparation of documentation and reports, ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintaining financial records for cases, including preparation of estimated outcome statements and dividend calculations.
  • Taking ownership of client onboarding and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Liaising with service providers, including lawyers, registered agents and government departments where appropriate.
  • At an introductory level, carrying out supervised investigations into identifying realisable assets, gaining experience in forensic and advisory assignments.
  • Participating in business development activities.

Skills required:

  • We value the unique skills and perspectives that individuals with diverse backgrounds bring to the workplace, including school leavers and those with life experiences.
  • We are seeking individuals with a strong work ethic and a results-oriented mindset and an ability to take ownership of tasks relayed to them, finding solutions to provide workable outcomes.
  • Individuals with interest in the medium to long terms to obtain either an accountancy or insolvency qualification (or similar) or willingness to undertake study towards a professional qualification, but not essential.
  • Experience in financial services would be advantageous, but not required, to understand the work that will be expected (direct restructuring experience desirable but again not required).
  • A desire to work toward achieving excellent analytical and numeracy skills, and development of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work on own initiative.
  • Of most importance, a proactive, practical desire to achieve results, learn and develop and enjoy the work and team around you.

What we will give you:

  • 25 days holiday + statutory public holidays
  • 3% company contribution towards a pension
  • Flexible benefit and well-being schemes
  • Individual Private Health Insurance
  • Enhanced sick pay scheme
  • Enhanced family friendly policies, including enhanced maternity pay
  • 36.25 hour working week
  • Birthday leave
  • 2 giving back days per year

Residential status

Ideally the successful candidates will hold relevant permissions to live and work in Jersey, and hold ‘Entitled’ or ‘Entitled for Work’ residential status as required.

Alternatively, Leonard Curtis may apply for relevant licences and permissions. Holding a British Passport may be advantageous and simplify this administrative process.

Learning and Development

Leonard Curtis has a wealth of resources available to help you develop your career from the moment you join. Activities range from on-line learning modules to external training.

Our process

Stage 1

All businesses encounter health problems. These may be short term and through no fault of the directors, they may result from under investment or over ambitious expansion. These ailments aren’t always critical. They might be just a blip. But leaving them unchecked is a risky business. The sooner you speak to us, the more we can do to improve your situation. We fully recognise that business difficulties arise from a broad range of factors which are sometimes outside of the directors/business owners control.
