Leonard Curtis has cut the ribbon on a new office premises in Loughborough, ensuring the professional services firm is perfectly placed to offer essential guidance to companies across the East Midlands region.

The new premises, based on Ashby Road near Loughborough town centre, is almost equidistant from three major cities in the region - Nottingham, Derby and Leicester - giving hundreds of businesses access to a Leonard Curtis adviser just 30 minutes away.

The launch of Leonard Curtis Loughborough arrives at a crucial moment, with corporate insolvencies hitting a 20-year high in Q3 of 2023, with East Midlands recording the highest percentage of active business closures of anywhere in the UK at 13.2% in 2022.

But with a new team on site in the area, Leonard Curtis can fulfil increased demand for support as businesses continue to face difficult situations in 2024.

This is the second site for Leonard Curtis in the East Midlands, which has historically been served by a team in the Barlborough office near Chesterfield.

Leonard Curtis Associate Director Phil Morton - who has been collaborating with companies in the East Midlands area for three years - is leading the Loughborough location alongside Kelly McGrath, a key figure in Leonard Curtis’ Funding division.

Phil commented: “Given the current inflationary pressures businesses are facing, along with high interest rates, these are tough times for business owners which will continue into 2024.

“But with another Leonard Curtis office in the East Midlands region, businesses in this area always have someone to turn to for support.

“Seeking advice at an early stage is paramount and not a sign of failure by the business owner. There are always options available but the earlier they are considered, the more likely of a successful turnaround.”

Kelly McGrath will provide some essential expertise to the office in the funding department, in addition to helping to arrange Time To Pay deals with HMRC to give firms breathing space to settle debts.

Kelly stated: “Listening to the clients’ needs and ensuring they are given the right advice or solution for their situation is key.

“Time is usually of the essence in these situations and with our new Loughborough location we can be on hand to help quickly with face to face advice.”

Sean Williams, Director of Leonard Curtis, added: “Personal support has never been more important for business owners.

“We’ve had a presence in the East Midlands for several years, but this new office will give us additional capacity to put in the necessary facetime with key stakeholders to offer practical advice they can implement to rescue or repair their company.”
