Business for sale

Project Dawn

The business is a UK-based, multi-brand home and personal care FMCG platform with national grocery and health & beauty distribution, a science-led, sustainability-focused product portfolio and a clear platform for growth.

‍

Company background:

‍

  • The company is headquartered in North East England. It was established in 2020 within a global industrial group to supply hand sanitiser to the NHS during the pandemic, before being developed into a broader household and personal care brand.
  • Following a carve-out to private ownership in 2025, it has been repositioned as a standalone multi-brand FMCG platform (house of brands).
  • Products are sold predominantly through major supermarkets and health & beauty retailers, supplemented by online channels.
  • The company is led by an experienced management team with brand development, innovation, commercial turnaround and retail management expertise, providing continuity of retailer relationships.

‍

Key business features:

‍

  • The company operates three complementary brands:
    • A plant-based performance-led household cleaning, laundry and hygiene brand.
    • A science-based personal care brand (body wash, hand wash and deodorant) relaunched in February 2026.
    • A new heritage-inspired aesthetic home and personal care brand launched in August 2026.
  • Management is launching a high-margin premium aircare and wellness brand in January 2027, and extending the heritage brand, which launched in one major retailer in summer 2026, into the wider market from January 2027. Both are aimed at a wider consumer demographic than the core range.
  • Significant national distribution with listings across leading UK retailers including Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and Boots. The company’s brands also maintain a strong presence on Amazon.
  • Range reviews are underway with major retailers for next year and initial feedback has been very positive.
  • Confirmations for 2027 distribution and SKUs are expected in the coming weeks.
  • Asset-light operating model, with production through assessed third-party manufacturing partners, allowing investment to be focused on brand building, sales driving, innovation and customer relationships.
  • Strong sustainability credentials: all core branded products are Cruelty Free International approved, bottles are 100% recyclable, wipes are biodegradable and refillable deodorant formats use up to 85% less plastic when refilled. Formulas are “plant powered” where possible whilst also delivering on strong efficacy credentials.

‍

Financial performance:

Note 1: The 2026 Outturn includes 8 months of actuals to August 2026 and a 4-month forecast to December 2026.

Note 2: The 2026 Outturn is below 2025 net revenue of c.£10.7m, reflecting temporary stock constraints caused by unprecedented supplier factory fires, which disrupted stock availability and planned trade activity.

‍

Investment highlights:

‍

  • Proven leadership – a highly experienced and committed management team, focused on completing the turnaround and returning the business to growth.
  • Established brand portfolio with national distribution – recognised brands with listings across the UK’s leading grocery and health & beauty retailers, providing an established route to market for new and acquired brands.
  • Differentiated product offering – performance-led, plant-powered formulations and proprietary technologies, backed by substantiated claims, give the company clear points of difference from multinational competitors.
  • Market tailwinds – the company is well placed to benefit from growing consumer and retailer demand for sustainable, refillable and cruelty-free products, supported by its existing accreditations and refill formats. Combined with its strong customer relationships, this provides a solid basis for growth in 2027.
  • Innovation pipeline – the brand has a track record of new product launches recognised by reputable trade awards, and its fragrance extensions, packaging redesigns and brand relaunches continue to set it apart as a true challenger. Brands to be launched in 2027 add additional weight to the portfolio and an entry into D2C providing margin accretive future growth.
  • Forward-looking EBITDA improvements – further opportunities around formulation & packaging cost optimisation provide upsides to the plan.
  • Growth levers – agile innovation model allows rapid response to market demands: additional innovation opportunities have already been discussed with and well received by the trade. These are not baked into the plan, but available to activate when the company delivers the expected growth.
