Business
of Sport

Leonard Curtis has launched the Business of Sport series to meet the need for an independently produced and validated set of financial sustainability data and professional commentary on a particular sport, all in one place.

Combining in-depth reports on cricket, rugby union and golf with monthly thought leaders on some of the latest developments across the sporting landscape, Leonard Curtis is contributing fresh insight on the sports industry in the UK at a pivotal time in its development.

Leonard Curtis
and the sport connection

The Business of Sport series from Leonard Curtis is led by Alex Cadwallader, who sits on the company’s board of directors and is a former England U21 rugby union player who played professionally for Bristol, Newport, Newcastle and London Welsh for almost 10 years. Since then, he has made a significant contribution to the growth of Leonard Curtis, especially in the South of England and offshore locations, as a well-respected restructuring adviser.

Iain Nairn MBE was an integral part of the England Physical Disability cricket squad for eight years, including five years as captain, before retiring from international cricket at the end of 2019. A licensed insolvency practitioner, Iain has headed up the Leonard Curtis Gateshead office since 2021.  He leads the company's growth in the North East of England, advising owner-managed businesses and individuals across the region.

A batting all-rounder, David Brown played 24 first-class matches and 73 List A and T20 games during his county cricket career. After graduating from Durham University, he was signed by Gloucestershire CCC, before moving to Glamorgan CCC. David joined Leonard Curtis in 2023 and as Chief Operating Officer is playing a key part in the next stage of the company’s growth, including its M&A strategy.
