This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing dynamic organisation. We are looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our Business Development team.

Experience in a BDR / SDR or similar client engagement role would be a bonus, but we are looking for candidates who are eager to develop and grow. Perhaps you’re a recent graduate who is just starting your career – if so, we’d love to hear from you!

Leonard Curtis is a market leading professional services provider operating across the UK and offshore. Since our formation we’ve supported business owners and advisors by listening and offering practical solutions and tailored advice. Our expert team of specialists deliver positive strategic advice across restructuring and insolvency, funding, law and business services across 29 offices and we remain the largest independent restructuring firm in the UK.

The role is dedicated to re-engaging lapsed or dormant clients from our existing database - relationships we’ve built over time that have since become inactive but still hold high potential.

The BDR will work strategically through a pre-defined book of past clients, known contacts, and previous leads, aiming to rekindle conversations, identify new needs, and qualify opportunities. Once clients are re-engaged, they will be passed to the Business Development Manager (BDM) team for further engagement and conversion.

Specific duties and responsibilities include:

• Outreach & Engagement

Reconnect with cold or inactive contacts using a mix of email, LinkedIn, phone, and other outreach methods.

• Relationship Rebuilding

Position the firm’s value proposition effectively, reigniting interest in our services based on evolving client needs.

• Qualification of Leads

Assess re-engaged clients for fit, potential, and readiness using pre-defined criteria, ensuring only high-quality referrals are passed to BDMs.

• Pipeline Management

Maintain accurate records of engagement, qualification stages, and progress using CRM systems.

• Collaboration with BDMs

Work closely with the Business Development Management team to hand over qualified leads with detailed briefing notes and context.

• Insight Gathering

Capture and report on common reasons for disengagement, new needs, or market trends to inform broader business development strategy.

Skills Required:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a knack for rebuilding trust and relationships.

• Confident using CRMs (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) to track outreach, manage leads, and report progress.

• A strategic, curious, and consultative mindset—able to ask the right questions and listen deeply.

• Comfortable with outreach that may not always yield immediate results; persistent, professional, and positive in tone.

• Proven ability to qualify and triage opportunities effectively.

KPIs & Success Measures

• Number of qualified leads re-engaged and passed to BDMs

• Conversion rate of re-engaged contacts to active opportunities

• Quality and completeness of CRM records and notes

• Timeliness and professionalism of handovers to BDM team

• Feedback from BDMs on referral quality

What we will give you:

• This role offers a competitive base salary and performance-based bonuses, tied to the quality and quantity of referrals passed to the BDM team

• 25 days holiday allowance + statutory public holidays

• Contributory Pension Scheme (3% company contribution)

• Financial support to study towards professional qualifications

• Flexible benefit and well-being schemes

• Enhanced sick pay scheme

• Enhanced Family Friendly Policies, including enhanced Maternity pay

• 36.25 hour working week

• Birthday leave in the month of your birthday

• 2 giving back days per year

Our process

Stage 1

All businesses encounter health problems. These may be short term and through no fault of the directors, they may result from under investment or over ambitious expansion. These ailments aren’t always critical. They might be just a blip. But leaving them unchecked is a risky business. The sooner you speak to us, the more we can do to improve your situation. We fully recognise that business difficulties arise from a broad range of factors which are sometimes outside of the directors/business owners control.
