With over 25 years of experience in the construction and engineering industries, Allan is an Associate within the Property & construction advisory team. He specialises in quantum matters and has been appointed as an independent quantum expert on several occasions, as well as leading quantum analysis for appointed experts on domestic adjudications and international arbitrations. His expertise is underpinned by extensive academic qualifications, including an LLB (Hons) with First Class honours, an M.Sc. in Construction Law & Dispute Resolution, and a Post Graduate Diploma for the Bar Professional Training Course completed as a Brick Court Chambers Scholar.
Allan works across numerous sectors including high-rise apartments, student accommodation, schools, hospitals, nuclear power, and large-scale residential works. Through his experience as a PQS, Main Contract Quantity Surveyor, and work for Sub-Contractors, he understands the needs of each party and brings a balanced perspective to complex disputes. He has worked extensively with bespoke EPC contracts and standard forms including JCT, NEC, and FIDIC.
His representative engagements include leading quantum analysis on a large regeneration project in the Middle East, providing independent expert opinions on disputed variations and abnormal building costs, and assisting on high-value disputes ranging from £1 million to £41 million across residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects throughout the UK, Middle East, Europe, and Australia.
