65 members of staff have kept their jobs at Black Country pork producer FA Gill after Leonard Curtis helped to secure a sale for part of the company.
Mike Dillon and Rochelle Schofield of Leonard Curtis were appointed administrators of F.A.Gill.Limited on 14 May 2024, with the Wolverhampton business - which has been operating for over 80 years - suffering significant losses in the prior period.
The company had been under strain following a reduction in sales on the ‘Abattoir’ side of the business, but Leonard Curtis was able to sell certain assets to Gill Meat Products Limited - a connected company - ensuring the continuation of meat production and saving 65 jobs.
Unfortunately, the Abattoir side of the business was unable to be saved and has ceased to trade.
