What is the secret of your success?
Our success is based on our ability to do the right thing and stay hungry … sounds simple but it is something not everyone can do especially for a sustained period of time. Thirty plus years of building relationships internally and externally is not easy and requires a consistent approach. Consistency and hunger are vital.
What has been your greatest investment?
Our people. We have built a first-class team over many years and we always try to learn from each other. Clearly, I would say this, but we have the best team at what we do.
What does the next year look like for you?
More growth in many parts of the business. Whilst financially we will look to expand year on year we aim to grow in many other ways too. Developing our people with clear career pathways and learning is really important. We will continue to embrace technology to improve what we do and how we do it. In addition, we will continue to invest in our brand – informing the market of what we do, how we do it and why we should be trusted to provide much needed support. We will continue to build and maintain our relationships much the same as we have done over the last 30 years.
What will be your biggest challenge in the next year?
Maintaining our position in a tough competitive market – a lot of our peers are good at what they do so it is not an easy ride. However, we stand firm in our approach and maintain key behaviours of Trust / Respect / Quality and Reliability.
What does the North West region mean for your business?
It means a lot. It’s where we started three decades ago. The people and the style of doing business in the North West is different – it’s a feeling which is not easy to describe. People often ask if it’s the journey to or the destination of success that means the most and we would say it’s neither – it’s the company you keep. The North West is home to the business in so many different ways.
