Leonard Curtis supports Ballet in the Park weekend in Jersey
Leonard Curtis has sponsored community Ballet in the Park event by Ballet d'Jèrri, alongside Bedell Cristin, which took place last weekend 27th and 28th June in Jersey.
The event – which drew hundreds of visitors over the two-day schedule – featured workshops and performances from young dancers and performances by Jersey’s National Ballet Company.
Formed just four years ago, Ballet d'Jèrri has become established as Jersey’s National Ballet, and is dedicated to creating bold, contemporary dance that resonates with local audiences while representing the Channel Islands on international stages.
The company works with international choreographers and performs not just in theatres and public spaces, but also in schools and care homes.
It is a registered charity, reliant on support from the Government of Jersey, private donors, and sponsors, to bring ballet to the Island's community.
Co-Global Managing Partner Edward Drummond at Bedall Cristin said: "What Ballet d'Jèrri has accomplished in only four years is genuinely impressive – we are so pleased to be able to support them and the contribution that they make to the Island's cultural and community life."

Carolyn Rose Ramsay, Artistic Director, Ballet d'Jèrri said: "Ballet in the Park is my favourite thing we do because it captures everything Ballet was meant to stand for.
“I love seeing someone take their very first dance class. I love seeing the BDJ dancers sweating through their morning training, their concentration and discipline, and then getting a cheeky donut and throwing a frisbee around between workshops and performances.
“There's no ticket to buy, no dress code to worry about, and no expectation that you stay all day or even to the end of the show. You can wander in, watch ten minutes of a performance, join a workshop, send the kids off to kick a football, then come back to watch a bit more dance.”
She added: “This is our annual reminder that dance is for everyone and can be something truly joyful that we all share."
