16 jobs have been saved following the successful sale of a UK freight transport firm.
Mike Dillon and Rochelle Schofield of Leonard Curtis were appointed administrators of JPA Transport Services Ltd on 8 June 2023.
JPAes principal activity was as a freight transport company, by road only. The business has been trading successfully since 2012 and suffered as a result of a countrywide shortage of HGV drivers following the UK leaving the European Union and latterly the COVID-19 pandemic causing nationwide restrictions.
Salary expectations of qualified HGV drivers and a dramatic increase in fuel costs resulted in JPA falling into arrears with its creditors.
Following the appointment of the administrators, a sale of the Companyes business and assets was completed to ABA Transport Services Ltd with all 16 jobs transferred under TUPE to the purchaser.
Joint Administrator Mike Dillon commented: The pre-packaged sale achieved represents the best outcome for the Companyes creditors as a whole and has resulted in the successful transfer of all jobs to the new entity."
