A total of 24 jobs have been saved in Staffordshire after Leonard Curtis stepped in to manage the successful sale of institutional Stoke metal fabricator Hallmark Metal Co. Limited.
The manufacturing business on Oldfields Business Park had been trading successfully since 1996, offering a range of surface pre-treatments, painting and printing options, as well as sheet metal punch, laser and bending equipment.
However, company turnover had decreased in recent years and the rising price of overheads and energy costs saw Hallmark fall into arrears with HM Revenue & Customs and trade creditors whilst failing to keep up with repayments to funders.
Despite Hallmarkes financial problems, Leonard Curtis experts helped to put the business up for sale and attracted significant interest from several parties.
An offer for the business and assets was received from related party Hallmark Manufacturing Limited and a pre-packaged sale of the business and assets was completed on 24 February 2023.
Rochelle Schofield and Mike Dillon from Leonard Curtis successfully managed the deal - with all two dozen jobs transferred under TUPE to the purchaser.
Rochelle commented: Hallmarkes underlying business model was strong, but was affected by the perfect storm of difficult circumstances.
We are delighted to conclude a sale and save livelihoods at a tough time for businesses in all sectors.
Mark Hall, from the purchasing company, added: We want to thank Leonard Curtis for their support in helping us to secure the futures of all the team and look forward to a brighter 2023 and beyond.
