One of the Midlands’ leading sheet metal manufacturers Radshape has been acquired by specialist steel and fabric firm Beakbane Ltd in a big industry deal facilitated by professional services group Leonard Curtis.
Radshape Sheet Metal - which has been trading in Birmingham since 1976 - will continue to operate from its Aston-based facility under the new brand name “Beakbane Precision Ltd”.
30 jobs at the firm have been retained.
The buyers, Kidderminster-based Beakbane Limited, have picked up Radshape Sheet Metal’s entire business and assets (including all IP and goodwill) as part of the deal - which was made possible through the support of professionals at Leonard Curtis.
The acquisition will help Beakbane Precision offer a comprehensive range of services and products to its extensive customer base supported by enhanced capability and resources.
Mike Southwell, Managing Director at Beakbane, commented: “We’re delighted to have acquired such great capability in high-quality fabrication work via Radshape Sheet Metal.
“Their skilled employees are a key part of the successful calibre and reputation. Together with their strong customer base Radshape Sheet Metal will form a key part of our UK manufacturing growth plans in stainless steel and aluminium fabrication for specialist applications.
“We look forward to growing this business into adjacent sectors within our complimentary customer base.”
Joint Administrator Conrad Beighton said “It is pleasing that we were able to ensure the continuity of this established business and preserve the brand and its staff. This was only possible due to the efforts of all stakeholders, its major customers and the purchaser”
